The cycle route, opened on May 25, 2018, begins on the border of the Trnava and Trenčín regions in the village of Horná Streda. It is historically the first section of the Vážská cycle route from the workshop of the Trenčín self-governing region and thus the first of eight parts of a 100-kilometer project that will connect the south of the Trenčín region with its north on the border with the Žilina region. The aim of the ambitious project of the 100-kilometer Vážská cycle route is to build an independent bicycle road, which will be as segregated as possible from motor traffic. The Vážská cycle route will thus bring the possibility of a full-fledged alternative to motor transport ; cyclists will be able to cycle more comfortably, safely and with better quality after the implementation of individual sections of the cycle route.
The cycle route directly connects the cadastral territories of 4 municipalities: Horná Streda, Brunovce, Potvorice and Považany with the town of Nové Mesto nad Váhom . The cycle route, up to 3 meters wide, passes along the crown of the protective dam of the Váh River, is 13.4 km long and has up to two covered resting areas. The difficulty of the bike path is recreational, so it is suitable for all ages, including children. Thanks to a special surface, it is designed not only for cyclists, but also for skaters. During a recreational ride, cyclists can enjoy the beautiful nature and views of the surrounding castles: Tematín, Čachtice or Beckov.
The Novučička cycle route is exceptional in several respects:
- 100 kilometers unique without a name : it is still not clear what the bike path will be called. It is these days that the public decides on the basis of a vote. It is possible to vote at cyklotrasytsk.sk
- twice as many layers as standard : the normal construction of a cycle path consists of an 18 - 20 cm thick layer of asphalt, a concrete base and gravel. However, the thickness of this cycle path reaches up to 35 cm. The asphalt layer is just duplicated.
- not only can carry a bicycle, but also a heavy truck : as the cycle route passes along the crown of the protective dam of the river Váh, resp. on the land of the Slovak Water Management Company (SVP), the Trenčín self-governing region met the requirements of the SVP and adapted the cycle route so that it could also handle the passage of costly mechanisms. It is these that SVP uses to manage watercourses.
- up to 13.4 km of joy : this is exactly the length of the cycle route between Horní Streda and Nový Mesto nad Váhom. The cost of its construction is 3.7 mil. €. The construction itself was carried out by STRABAG, sro
- completed in seven months; construction began in November 2017, the bike path was completed in May 2018
- four municipalities, one town : the cycle route directly connects the cadastral territories of 4 municipalities (Horná Streda, Brunovce, Potvorice, Považany) with the town of Nové Mesto nad Váhom
- two opportunities to relax ; it also includes two covered resting areas
- favorable for all wheels ; the surface of the bike path is made of a special surface, which is also favorable for skaters
- on a bicycle and to work ; Approximately 20 regional employers, companies and companies are based on and around this cycle route
- statistics say that 9 thousand were used for the construction of the cycle route. tons of asphalt and 6 thousand. tons of concrete structures
- without cars ; the cycle route is absolutely segregated from motor traffic
- generous width ; cycling route on average
- reaches a width of three meters , which will provide a comfortable space for two bicycle lanes in the two-way operation of the bicycle route.
- it all started in 2014 ; The birth of the cycle route as the first of the eight sections of the Vážská cycle route is linked to 2014, when the chairman of the Trenčín self-governing region initiated the construction of a 100 km long highway across the entire region.
