On Friday, April 8, the center of Považská Bystrica changed to Salaš. From 10.00 am there was a sheep at the Town Hall, a wave was cut, and people could taste the true mural products and see various demonstrations of the shepherd craft.

The Regional Agricultural and Food Chamber (PPSP) Považská Bystrica, in cooperation with the town of Považská Bystrica and the chalets from the whole region, prepared the seventh annual "From Salaša to the City". Within the framework of the event, huts and farms from the districts of Ilava, Považská Bystrica and Púchov were presented in the center of Považská Bystrica. The aim of this traditional event is to promote and sell products from sheep and lamb, sale of cheeses, cinnamon, bryndza, raw yoghurt, as well as presentations of traditional shepherd crafts.

In spite of the harsh weather, the event had enjoyed an abundant attendance from the early hours. The event was initiated by the Mayor of Považská Bystrica, Karol Janas: "I want to thank all who came and especially the organizers, because without the organizers and the people who provide this traditional event the event would not have a level that is higher year-to-year. Thanks for the invitation and support of the event was also expressed by the Director of the Department of Animal Production of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Andrea Hrdá, who praised a number of successes and honest trades.

At the seventh year of the Salaša event in the city, shepherds from the whole region presented themselves. On the occasion of this event, the competing horses joined together to present their activities together with the presentation of the handicrafts and the sale of their own products. "The sheepmen who finalize the milk products and are members of the Regional Agricultural and Food Chamber Považská Bystrica participate in the event. In addition to the sale of the final milk products, we offer sheep and lamb products at this event. We also prepared a demonstration of the pulling of raw yarns and a demonstration of sheep cutting, "said Daniela Janíčková, Director of RPPK Považská Bystrica.
