Home of the Singing Choir of Slovak Teachers

Home of SZSU - boarding house is a primed organization of the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic.

It has a very interesting history , important for the whole region, which points to the determination of our people . It has been operating since 1933 .

It is located about 5 min. Walk from the center of Trencianske Teplice .

The home of the Slovak Teachers' Choir provides its premises to schools and other organizations and individuals to:

• Practice arts training
• medical outpatient stays
• school trips
• Meetings
• jubilee celebrations
• wedding receptions
• recreation
• weekend stays

Our accommodation, located in a beautiful spa environment, offers accommodation in 2, 3 and 4-bedded rooms , all-day dining , lecture rooms , relaxation in a recreation park with fireplace , benches , tables , summer terrace and tennis courts .

Rooms on the 1st to 3rd floor are equipped with shower and toilet and TV .
The accommodation capacity is 69 beds.

Educational and non-teaching staff of the school provide a discount of 10% for accommodation.

INTERESTING ABOUT HOME

After the First World War , the Slovak nation won national freedom and began building a new common homeland of Czechoslovakia with the brotherly Czech nation. At that time, apart from several local speeches, we did not have a nationwide singing body , so a few teachers from Trenčín, Ilava and Púchov decided to set up speeches of Trenčín teachers.

They set up a chorus called "Spevokol of Slovak Teachers", later changed their name to "Speaking Choir of Slovak Teachers." The church members often traveled at night to come to the place of the exercise, and after the excursion, they traveled home overnight to come to work in time. The idea of having your own shelter - your own home .....

The active member of Janko Geryk took over this idea and assumed all responsibility for this challenging task.

Mr. Geryk acquired the land from the village of Trenčianske Teplice free of charge , architect Harminc made plans and the builders went to work on his own . At that time, the members of the choir contributed from the private earnings of CZK 1,000 a year to the choir and Ing. Adanca and Ing. Štreburer realized the construction of the building ......

The celebration of the opening of the House of the SZSU and the twelve years of the church took place on July 16, 1933, in the presence of public and cultural figures.
