Museum of Slovak National Councils

The Museum of Slovak National Councils in Myjava is a specialized organizational unit of the Slovak National Museum in Bratislava. It focuses on the documentation of the history of the Slovak National Councils. It maps their activities, representatives and other personalities of the Slovak nation to the present National Council of the SR as the highest representative legislative and state authority.

Besides this specialization, it also provides documentation of the history of the Podbradlansko-Podjavorin region. The collections of the museum and the museum's main exhibition are also associated with SNR's history. It is located in the pavilion of Anna Koleniova, where the Slovak National Council met for the first time on September 19, 1848. In addition to the permanent exhibition, which includes the exposition of the original House of Anne Koléniová, the museum also presents attractive short-term exhibitions.

The museum has an extended workplace, which is an exhibition of the MRŠtefánika Museum in Košarisky presenting the life and work of General Dr. Milan Rastislav Štefánik.

The main exposition of the Museum of Slovak National Councils in Myjava captures for almost 160 years the history of the Slovak nation, its struggles for recognition of its own and the right to self-determination, as well as its sovereignty and statehood. Its focus is educative and educational but also representative. It is one of the exposures that every citizen of the Slovak Republic should know in general education. Anne Kolenei's house is also part of it, where the first Slovak National Council met in 1848. The Museum of Slovak National Councils in its settlement building in Myjav offers other expositions that present the Podbradlansko-Podjavorin region, whether the Štefan Bednár Gallery or Myjavy's Cultural Traditions - Folk House. In his showrooms he regularly installs various interesting exhibitions.

There are several monuments devoted to the museum in the area of ​​the museum in 1848. They are:

Bronze High Relief "At the Time of Breast" by the national artist Rudolf Pribus. It consists of three parts, of which the author presented revolutionary traditions in 1848. In an attempt to preserve and approach historical and period authenticity, the author modeled the relief in a realistic form. In the middle of the relief that is the supporting part, he placed the allegorical figure of a woman who expressed the efforts of the I. SNR to give his people freedom. On the left is a composition of three women with bowed heads - a metaphor of the conquered Slovak nation, and on the right a composition of six figures with a pledge - a freelance student of his nation in 1848.

The clusters of "The Wake of the Robot" by Klára Pataky consist of three free spirals from the Spiš travertine, symbolizing the Slovak national revival - its three phases: the first figure lying, the second as rising from the grave and the third forming in the hints two self- With figures highlighting the needs of the unity of the nation.

The entrance gate is a part of the academy. sculptures. E. Masarovičová and translated into artistic, professional, artistic and graphic art according to the casting of concrete and other works of art.

Sculpture "Binding of Years" by the National Artist Jozef Kostka. In the ideological part, the author expresses the bondage and the backwardness of the events in a symbolic shortcut, while being artistically linked to the folk elements of our art. The basic shape of the sculpture is the wine grape that used to be in the wine cellars where it was fermented and sour. In this sculpture is expressed the entire contents of our historical revolutions, supplemented by the years 1848 - 1918 - 1944. That is why it was also hoped and fermented in our country.

Museum of Milan Rastislav Štefánik

The exhibition, prepared for the 125th anniversary of the birth of MR Štefánik, has a memorial character. Visitors symbolically portray this important personality of our national history through his material as well as spiritual reference. Almost 200 exhibited items, from individual pieces of furniture through articles of daily use and artwork to torso clothing, draw near to his fates from birth to a tragic end. They approach us as a man with positives and negatives, a man who has suffered but also loved the admirer of the beauty of the world and the heavenly sky, reverend the respect of his life, his joys and his worries, the lover of the beautiful things he brought from the world (Tahiti, Japan , Africa, New Zealand), an expert in art and beautiful literature, as well as a scientist - an astronomer rebuilt in a number of literature that has been preserved in his library.
