Upper Nitra has a strong library tradition. It was built in 1864 by the prominent priest and national leader Alexander Bazai. The County People's Library was founded almost a hundred years later, but it grew rapidly through its strong roots.
In 1951 the District People's Library was founded, from which the present-day Hornonitrianska was born. Between 1952 and 1985, she settled in the Hall of the House. After the opening ceremony of May, enthusiastic individuals and theatrical amateurs expressed their libraries. At that time, the shelves filled 3,235 books, which were given to 815 readers. Significant was the year 1967 when the library was honored with the visit and discussion of Christ Bend. This year a total of 6,757 books were added to the library. A year later, the library received a copy of the catalog of copies, and for the whole year, employees increased their 100-thousand tickets for a given time. In order to have the news of this year complete, the library also got its first own car. It was a van.
