Baroque treasures of history
At the main square in Mierovo in Trenčín, under the castle Matúš Čačka stands firmly on its historical bases Roman Catholic Church of Sts. František Xaverský. Originally Jesuit, from 1776 he became piarist. With its high-rise double-faced front, it forms a proud dominant of the western part of the square. It is one of the most important sacral baroque monuments in Slovakia. The basic stonework was laid by the Jesuits in 1653. The church was designed and exhibited in 1653-1657 by Italian-style builders in the ranobaroc style. An emperor's oratorio opens with a single-deck ship with side chapels.
The Trenčín Jesuit church with its layout and layout of the two-story design follows the model of the Central European Jesuit Temple. Ceiling paintings come from the life of St. František Xaverský, the patron of the church and the town of Trenčín, as well as the Jesuits. The top of baroque art in Slovakia is the illusion of the dome above the temple boat, which is also enhanced by the impressive impression of baroque and stucco decoration. Restoration works have brought the dignity of the Aumelec-Historical Gratitude to the whole temple building.
