The Turkish spirit of Považia
The Hammam building baths in Trenčianske Teplice offer visitors a glimpse of an inexplicable mystery. Architecture from another world! How did this piece of Turkey take part? Still in the 19th century, the spa owner of the Fabriène de Castries d'Harcourt was at the World Exposition in Paris, a model of the Prepychová Hot Spring bath. She was kidnapped. She immediately traveled to Egypt, asking Ishmael for permission to build Hammam in Slovakia as well. Ismail sent her request and sent her to the court of Trenčianske Teplice with her court arch. Hammam, which translates as a bath in Arabic, came in 1888. It is an important building that has not been similar in Europe.
The visitor will be surprised at the entrance by the illumination of a three-lobed hall with glazed holes with a pearl of the starry sky. Architect Schmoranz has impressive features in interior design, galleries and marble fountains. Arabesque stripes are sculpted into three domes forming a vault. Two rows of columns carved from a fine sandstone separate the hammam hall from resting cabins unloaded with ornamental bumpers. Each second cabin is marked by the Iconigie de Castries monogram.
In the past, Hammam served as a bath for rich nobility and financial magnates. Today it is available to spa guests as well as to the general public.
