From September 28 to October 1, the 9th Horomil Fest festival will be held in Považská Bystrica . This is a feast for all the lover of mountains, travel and sports, who annually welcomes a number of well-known celebrities and presents a lot of interesting films over the course of four days.
The audience can look forward to the unique, first-ever premiere of a new film by Pavel Barabáš called Cruel Everest . The author himself, however, does not mention Horomil Fest, but the Himalayas will certainly be one of the best Slovak mountaineers Peter Hámor . The organizers of the festival decided to draw attention to the great success of this athlete: this year, Peter Hámor overtook his last eight-thousandth on Earth and became a member of the elite club of people who had all eight hundred.
Saturday, the festival will also include the well-known reporter Jozef Kubáni , who will talk to the audience more on the backstage of producing reports in extreme conditions. Spectators can also enjoy the film's premiere of Matus Lašan's 30-day documentary film on the Road of Heroes on Friday. Even the next film premiere will be unique: it is a film made by a group of mothers led by Ivana Semančíková from Považská Bystrica. They decided to go through a three-day riddle tour in Javornik with their little children - from 0 to 4 years old, to show everyone that when they want, it is ...
Every year Horomil Fest also includes the natives from Považská Bystrica and its surroundings, and it is not even this year. Unique, however, is that the native will be celebrating the first festival evening! Spectators can look forward to Peter Bolog's presentation of an adventurous journey through the Balkans to the old Ford of Ka, which will also be brought to the festival, and every viewer can sign on the car directly. Also interesting are the traveling experiences of well-known photographers by Ľuboš Ďuric and Ľubo Drápala .
Horomil Fest also prepares a large number of accompanying events every year. Classically, thanks to the Speleoklub Strážov, fans of the festival can visit the Cave House at Spring, not only to discover the beautiful underground spaces of one of the oldest caves in Slovakia, but also to enjoy a concert in this attractive area. Another permanent event is the chance to try the climbing wall of HK Manin or to enjoy the photo exhibition installed directly in the Mier cinema. The author of Považskobystrický Jozef Sádecký belongs to the top in the field of landscape painting and the opening of his exhibition, on Wednesday, September 27, the festival will be launched.
A separate program is being prepared every year in the nearby Nimnica Baths . It is possible to meet real Moravian portals on the last festival day (1.10.2017). This corps of mountain men, who previously guarded the Javornik Mountains and the Beskids, celebrates the 300th anniversary of their foundation.
