In just two months, Trenčín will come to life again with adventure, amazing sports performances and fulfilled travel dreams. The HoryZonty Adventure Film Festival will open its doors on November 11 - 13, 2021, and although the organizers plan to return to the Crew Club in Trenčín, they will show in the coming weeks and the measures in force at the time of the festival.

The online projection attracted attention not only in Slovakia

During the three days of the festival, the organizers plan to offer the audience a selection of the best of the world of outdoor film in 2021, there will also be discussions with guests. "In the event that the conditions for the organization of public events are not favorable, we will again implement the festival in an online version," says festival director Mária Dutková. "We are also considering the combination of the classic program in the cinema hall with its online version, thanks to which the festival is also more accessible to spectators in more distant places in Slovakia and abroad. Last year we received a lot of positive audience responses, "he adds, stating that the festival was seen by audiences in a total of ten countries, even in Australia.

The main festival program marked by two significant anniversaries

Among other things, this year's festival will be dedicated to two anniversaries. One is the 100th anniversary of the public screening of Slovak feature film and the other is 100 years since the founding of the Slovak Mountaineering Association JAMES. On this occasion, the organizers will include in the program several events - film screenings on the theme of mountaineering, discussions, exhibitions. Róbert Gálfy, a climber, mountain guide and pioneer of Slovak ski mountaineering, confirmed his participation in Thursday's festival program. Marián Šajnoha, former chairman of the Slovak Mountaineering Association JAMES, participant in several international expeditions and leader of a climbing expedition to the northern peak of Nanga Parbat in 1978, will be added to the resounding names of Slovak climbing legends who have honored the festival with their visit in the past. Martin Heuger, climber and chairman of the SHS JAMES Mountaineering Commission, will also present on the stage. On the last evening of the festival, on Saturday, November 13, Martin's friend and fellow climber, Trenčan Jaroslav Dutka, will talk to both guests on the stage.

There will be traditional competitions

The HoryZonty adventure film festival is a successful event that has been on the Trenčín cultural scene for 15 years. HoryZonty gained the interest of visitors from the ranks of fans of adventure and documentary films, outdoor athletes, tourists and travelers not only with its content, program quality, but also by constantly expanding accompanying activities, including running races, carrying time trial on wooden Parish Stairs and children's Tour de MountainsZonty on the pump track. The preparation for the festival takes several months and in the hands of the organizers these days almost all films, including film films by Slovak and Czech non-professional filmmakers, are included in the film competition. The organizers also announced a traditional photo competition, this time on the theme "Without Borders". Competitors can send their photos until October 24, 2021.
