In cooperation with City University of Seattle in Trenčín, American students from Washington University visited the Trenčín Self-Governing Region (TSK) on Wednesday, 21 June 2017. They came to our region thanks to the European Cognitive Tour. Visiting TSK students from the big boys is an annual tradition.

The Delegation from Far America was received by the TSK Vice-Chairman, Jozef Trstenský, at the TSK Congress Hall, where the meetings of the TSK Embassy are also held. He also welcomed enthusiastic entrepreneurs, marketing and IT students, as well as Eva Frývaldská, executive director of the regional tourism organization Trenčín region.

Deputy Mayor Jozef Trstenský expressed his pleasure in working with City University of Seattle in Trenčín: "I am delighted that there is cooperation between City University in Trenčín and Washington University in the United States and that we can welcome several dozen students in our beautiful country every year." From the KOCR workshop Trenčín region, which contained all the most important information about the Trenčín self-governing region. At the end of the meeting, students showed a surprising interest in information from the county environment as well as important national topics. The Vice-Chairman of the TSK explained to all the participants the funding of hospitals, the tax system and the elections to the VÚC or the election of the president.

The main goal of this annual visit is to familiarize students with culture, the functioning of local authorities and companies in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Austria. The great benefit of the program is a positive response from students who recommend it to younger classmates.

In addition to the visit of the TSK Office, a tour to Trenčiansky castle, excursions to DEL and Eset and another rich program are waiting for foreign guests.
