Although the Trenčín adventure film festival HoryZonty was aimed at the Crew Club this year, the organizers had to withdraw from the planned return to "ODY" six weeks before the start of the festival. Despite the difficult situation in the organizational team, a clear decision was made. The HoryZonty 2020 adventure film festival will take place. But he can't avoid changes.

A novelty is the online festival screening of films

The hopes that the festival life would return to the old ways went off in the last week of September, when the epidemiological situation in Slovakia deteriorated and clouds over cultural, sports and social events. A month before HoryZontami, a team led by Mária Dutková found itself at a crossroads where a decision had to be made on how to proceed. "There was a situation that we were counting on, but we believed in a more optimistic scenario: Well, these are the obstacles that move us forward, so after long deliberations and with the help of people willing to share their views and experiences, we decided move the festival to the online space as well. It is a journey into the unknown for us, a big challenge - technical as well as organizational, " says the festival director, who is already taking the first steps to ensure that everything is not just live on the planned date of HoryZontov, from 5 to 7 November 2020. in cinemas, but also in the Internet environment. For spectators, this means that they will not be cut short by the festival even at the time of stricter measures, and they will be able to watch the latest Slovak and foreign outdoor films through online screenings directly from their home.

It will be screened live in the Lúč club and the Metro cinema

However, even visitors who do not want to give up the classic form of the event will not lose the spectator-attractive festival. Due to the limit of the number of 50 people at one event, the organizers decided that the festival will take place in smaller spaces, not in the originally planned 600-seat hall of the Crew Club. In order for HoryZontov to be able to take part in as many people live as possible, it will be screened in two places - in the Lúč club and in the Metro cinema. The program will be identical, only the beginning of the screening will be postponed, due to the transfer of the performing guests from place to place. Tickets for Lúč and Metro will be available in advance at the KIC on Mierovo námestí in limited quantities. Everyone who buys a ticket will have a guaranteed place for the given film block in the specific cinema hall to which they will buy the ticket, under the currently valid measures.

There will be discussions about the films

The dramaturgy of the festival also had to undergo changes. "For example, with the originally planned guest Róbert Gálfy, we agreed to move his presentation to next year. It would be a great pity if so few spectators could take part in it, " explains Dutková. However, the organizers will not be completely impoverished about the guests, they will present them in the discussions on the screened films. On the stage of the Lúč club and the Metro cinema, director Viliam Bendík will present his latest film "Finding Courage", who has already won several awards at the festival for his film works in previous years. Adam Lisý, the creator of the film "The Road to the Top", will also come to Trenčín together with the ultra-runner Marián Priad. Saturday night block. The organizers will publish more detailed information about the program and ticket sales soon.

Changes in accompanying events

Accompanying events are also waiting for changes. The presentation of photos entered in the photo competition will also be moved to the Internet space. 40 selected competition photos will be published on the website, FB profile and instagram of the festival. The organizers moved the application for the photo competition with the theme "Slovak Element" to October 25, 2020. The winners will be decided by an expert jury. From Saturday's accompanying events organized in the city center, the popular HoryZontov Cup Run will not take place this year. The competition in the delivery of the porter's porter of the Carrier's Dream as well as the Tour de HoryZonta event in the Bay of Peace are likely to take place, of course in a form that will respect the current regulations in force.
