The elephant Tembo beckons to the zoo, the alien from the planet Ally-O to the observatory

From March , the zoo in Bojnice will be open longer, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Visitors who have not been able to visit the ZOO since December can look forward to the new elephant Temba, who is located in the new elephant pavilion. Not only during the spring holidays, visitors can play the game zoocaching (cache search), hidden in the garden area, and thus win interesting prizes.

The observatory in Partizánské during the spring holidays invites children, and those born earlier, to meet a small alien who flew to Earth from the planet Ally-O. Through his narration, you will learn a lot about the solar system, the constellations, and the near and far universe. In case of favorable weather, observation of the Sun is planned and in the evening, observation of objects in the starry sky. The observatory is open to individuals and families with children Monday through Friday in the morning from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and on Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Observations take place in case of favorable weather on Wednesday and Friday after dark, approximately from 18.00 to 21.00 h.

What are the castles in the Trenčín Region preparing?

During the spring holidays, from February 20 to March 3, 2023, you will be welcomed at Beckov Castle every day from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. In addition to a pleasant walk and the majestic ruins of the medieval castle, many activities will await visitors, not only for children. You can test your sharpness while shooting with a crossbow, try to overcome a maze or test your wits with a period game of hnefetafl or chess. The brave will not be afraid of the long descent to the dragon Blundus, gourmets will be delighted by the exhibition of period cuisine, and the curious will be intrigued by the worksheets with tasks about the history of the castle.

During the spring holidays, Trenčín Castle will also open its doors daily to offer vacationing children the opportunity to visit the premises of Matúš Čák Castle, as well as the new exhibition "PLAYMOBIL - Come to the castle and build your own world". The exhibition starts on Saturday 25.2. in the premises of the barracks, its central theme will be the castle, knights and princesses. Visitors will be able not only to view the exhibition, but also to try and play with their work. This exhibition will be accessible until September 2023. As the road to the castle is currently undergoing reconstruction, entry to the castle will only be possible through the ticket office of the Brezina forest park, which offers the opportunity to combine a trip with a nice walk in nature.

Cachtic castle

The castle of the Bloody Countess will be open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. during the spring holidays. The exception is Monday, February 27, when the castle will not be accessible. New for this season are authentic instruments of torture, which will be accessible at the castle from March. During the tour of the castle, the guide will give you an interesting explanation about them.

Bojnice Castle

At our most romantic castle in the Trenčín region, visitors are welcomed during standard opening hours, from Wednesday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Experiences for several days will be offered by a day camp or a spring stay

Children who like animals can enjoy a holiday week in their company. The day camp "Spring animals" in the Patrovec mansion will prepare an interesting program for children every day. They can explore nature, ride horses, train dogs and take care of pets.
