The three days of the Trenčín Adventure Festival will look different this time. Less than four weeks before the start of the event, the Crisis Staff decided to cancel all mass events. Nevertheless, the organizers decided that the festival will be. Not in its classic "live" form, but in the form of online projections via the Internet.

Turn in front of the festival gates? It would be difficult

The team around Mária Dutková is starting to think about the preparations for the festival a year before its implementation, so unexpected circumstances this year were not included in any of the projects. "The journey to such an event takes several months and it is not easy for the organizer to just leave everything that has already been built. Many hours of work of many people are behind us, " explains the current director of the festival. "It never occurred to us that we would ever consider a 'virtual' festival a year ago. Now it's a reality. The situation changes from week to week and we learn new things as we go, " says Mária Dutková, on behalf of the entire team, who works intensively with technicians and experts in the field of computer technology to ensure that everything takes place in a new form on time. the best.

Foreign films are again part of the program

The program prepared by the organizers will also consist of several films from abroad. "The images that we obtain from foreign creators and companies already during the spring and summer are only semi-finished products. They need to be translated, subtitled, edited, processed and compiled into a unique work in the form of the final festival screening, ” explains Dutková, who currently communicates intensively with European and several overseas filmmakers regarding licenses for other forms of screening. "Obtaining approval for online screenings is a bit more challenging. In particular, foreign directors and companies are very sensitive to the protection of their works in the Internet environment, they often impose specific conditions, stricter than when screening in a cinema. "

Guests' spice movie blocks "at a distance"

The competition of non-professional Czech and Slovak authors also arouses interest. A record number of up to 29 images was entered this year. Among the well-known names of Slovak filmmakers, we can mention Viliam Bendík or Adam Lisý. However, the festival will also feature Pavel Barabáš's film "Something is King". The screening of the film by the successful Slovak documentary filmmaker will be supplemented by an interview with Peter "Beck" Ondrejovič and Jar Dutek, who were among the participants in the expedition to the largest waterfalls in the world. Another guest will receive a word "at a distance", director Vilo Bendík, who will reveal more about his film project "Finding Courage", inspired by Slovak history, specifically the fates of women from the period of the Slovak National Uprising, through a "dock" created especially for the festival. Their stories are intertwined with the running story of the Slovak ultra-runner Lenka Vacvalová.

Another running and life story will be presented to the Trenčín audience by the well-known filmmaker Adam Lisý. In the film entitled "The Road to the Top", which belongs to those who can catch the heart with their message and emotions, he captures the person of the talented and modest long-distance runner Maja Priadka.

Strong emotions will not be missing in Rasť Hatiar's latest film either. His "Unwanted Self-Portrait" is a personal, intimate confession of a man who has lost his friend on the rope, even in life. Unexpectedly, in one winter day, in a dream road…

The date of the festival is well known, where decisive spectators will take place everywhere

The HoryZonty adventure film festival is full of new challenges for the organizers. This year will be different. It will be. It will take place on the originally planned date of November 5-7, 2020. Wherever it will take place, it will depend on the audience. Tickets for online screenings, which those interested will be able to see on the festival days listed directly from the comfort of their home, can be purchased online. The voting for the Audience Award will also take place via the Internet, and the jury will decide on the winners of other categories.
