For the third year in a row, the Trenčín Regional Tourism Organization (KOCR) has been awarding the region the best accommodation facility, important personality, interesting innovation and product, as well as facilities for the severely disabled (ŤZP) and gastronomic operation. The TOP award in tourism (CR) for the year 2019 was again presented at the International Tourism Fair ITF Slovakiatour 2020 during the ceremonial opening of the KOCR Trenčín region exhibition space in Incheba, Bratislava.

The winner in the TOP gastro 2019 category was decided by the general public through the nomination of individual entities and subsequent voting. This year's winner among 46 nominees is the VELICE ice cream and café in Nová Dubnica , which has been operating since 2016 and offers quality homemade ice cream and ice cream cakes, coffee or the unusual Panotino - baked ice cream in a brioche. As the owner herself says, Dominika Migaľová did not expect a victory and they will strive even more for new ice creams and improvements to the existing recipes of the products on offer.

Tourism full of uniqueness

The winners in the categories TOP accommodation facility, TOP innovation CR, TOP product CR, personality CR, equipment accessible for the severely disabled were decided by an expert jury composed of representatives of regional tourism organizations and KOCR.

In the category TOP accommodation facility 2019 , the jury decided to award the prize Regent Club Vila Tereza in Trenčianske Teplice , which after a long reconstruction can boast an unusual exterior and luxurious interior. Ladislav Janech from Považská Teplá became a personality of the Czech Republic in 2019 , who set up a private museum in the attic of his family house accessible to the general public, schools and foreign tourists. "In the 4 rooms, which are in the attic, there are about 10,000 items of various values. Tourists from Poland, Spain, America, Africa, Canada and Russia are also interested in the show. According to the guestbook, we have already been visited by more than 10,300 visitors from all over the world, " added Janech.

BikeFest in Kálnice received the award as the TOP tourist product of 2019 , as it is a unique cycling festival that has become one of the top in Europe and the world. More than 2,000 competitors took part in the 9th year of the festival, and over 20,000 visitors came to the event.

The Trenčín region is a region of innovation

The expert jury awarded the House of Illusions in Bojnice for the best innovation in 2019 . It is a visual attraction that is both a museum and a gallery. It focuses on optical illusions, trick-art and modern forms of depicting reality. Although the gates opened to the public only in 2019, they have already found a stable base of visitors.

The victory in the category of equipment accessible for ŤZP 2019 was won by Kúpele Nimnica , thanks to almost 100% accessibility. "We already have selected places in the spa area that we want to make more accessible for the Czech Republic in the future. We have been working on accessibility for more than 10 years and we want this place to be truly 100% accessible to visitors, " added Miloš Michalec, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Kúpeľov Nimnica.

"I am very glad that we were able to appreciate the best in tourism again this year during the ITF Slovakiatour 2020 exhibition. Tourism in the Trenčín region is developing significantly every year and it is noticeable that the offered services and products are still higher and higher. level. The selection of winners is always a slightly more difficult task not only for the expert jury, but also for the public, " concluded the chairman of KOCR Trenčín region Juraj Gerlici.
