A few years ago a ruin, today spaces suitable for events, exhibitions or overnight stays. Reconstruction of the castle part - the farm building of Uhrovsky Castle has been completed and its result is unique. Members of the Uhrovec Castle Civic Association (OZ) signed up for the work.

The castle jutting out from the steep hills of the Strážovské vrchy offers unique views. After the devastation caused by the fire in the middle of the 19th century, the castle withered and the roofing of the buildings was destroyed. For many years, the Foundation for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage has taken care of the preservation and conservation of castle walls. The scepter was later taken over by the Uhrovec Castle Civic Association, which today boasts significant progress in reconstruction work. "We tried to approach the renewal very precisely. I would like to say that the farm building has been reconstructed to 98% in its original form, " said Martin Varga, chairman of OZ Hrad Uhrovec .

The restored castle building offers new opportunities for the visitor. The lower part of the farm building should serve as a lapidary in the near future, and a background for tourists will be created on the floors. The reconstruction project, which lasted 3 years, was implemented with the support of a subsidy program of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic. According to statistical data, Uhrovec Castle is visited by more than 5,000 tourists every year. "Castle ruins are currently very popular. As the visitor is not restricted by safety measures to the extent that indoors, it is easier and perhaps more effective to choose this alternative for a trip with the family. That is why we have included Uhrovec Castle in our summer game ŠTÚR TÚR and we believe that the participants will also appreciate the latest reconstruction work on the castle, " said Eva Frývaldská, Executive Director of the Trenčín Region Regional Tourism Organization (KOCR) . Despite the fact that the permanent guide service, visitors will not be deprived of the history of this unique monument.Last year, KOCR Trenčín region placed a special table with a QR code, which contains a recording of the castle.The soundtrack is also available in English, German, Polish or Hungarian.
