The Trenčín region is not only castles and chateaux full of legends and legends or romantic baths and mountains with beautiful views. They are also picturesque meadows, packed with sheep flocks, shrubs and wooden huts, also known as chalets. Although Trenčiansky region is not a typical mountain region, there are several mountain villages. These are a year-round attraction for people from all over the country. Visiting salaša is the ideal way to spend a free day with friends or family. It offers the opportunity to taste traditional Slovak dishes, to buy products from animal production or to walk around the farm and to see for themselves the eyes of sheep, cows, horses or other farm animals. In the region of Považia there are several such horses that are definitely worth a visit. You can combine this with the unpretentious tourism, which is the place where the surrounding countryside in the Trenčín region is created.
In the footpaths, we recognize the heritage of our ancestors
The beautiful nature in the valley of Váh and the valley, which extends in the vicinity of Považská Bystrica, is deeply hidden in the village of Javorníky in the foothills of the village of Papradno. Just outside the village, at the foothills of the hill there is the famous Koliba Papradno , which offers a varied variety of leisure activities. Honey and nature lovers will come to their place, who can discover the surrounding beauty of the chalice directly from the horse seat. I do not even know gourmets. The traditional way of breeding animals and growing crops is a guarantee of an excellent gastronomic experience. Sheep and cow's cheese products are obvious, but there is also a wide range of dairy and home-made products. Salami with almost nine sheep will enchant even the smallest family members. The beautiful natural scenery combined with tasty Slovak cuisine is a guarantee of a pleasant day spent.
Approximately half an hour, on the other side of the Váh, there is the village of Pružina in the mountainous environment of Strážovské vrchy. Directly in the courtyard of Salaš Spring you can get information boards in the village. The view of the grazing sheep is a wonderful welcome on the farm. The nature surrounding the chalet offers interesting beaches, lots of rock formations or more than 220 discovered caves. Among them we find the Spring Dungeon of the Cave, which is one of the oldest caves in Slovakia. About 300 meters long cave is located a few minutes from Papradna along the walkway from Predhoria, from where the path leads to the slope of the Black Mountain. Spring Dúpna Cave is accessible to the public with a guide.
The Salzkammergut in Pruhin and Kolib in Papradne has for many years been combining an exceptional agrotouristic project called Bačova cesta . It represents the farming of the general public, while preserving and presenting the victory that is the cultural heritage of our ancestors. Every year, the project also supports Trenčiansky samosprávny kraj and regional tourism organization Trenčín region. Two chalets, a variety of quality cheeses, cinnamon, bryndza and sheepskin products and a rich cultural program can be enjoyed every year in May at the opening of the mountaineering season. Immerse yourself through the Bač path into the secrets of our ancestors' history, taste the finest products of milk and meat, and get to know the farm animals.
Gazdovstvo full of fun, animals or great cuisine
If you are looking for an ideal place to enjoy your friends, family or children in their free time, a family farm named as the Uhliská Gazdovska is located in the White Carpathian Mountains, specifically in Trenčianska Závada near the town of Nemšová. This storyline has begun to be written in 2010 and since then it has undergone a significant change and has become a pleasant site for a few years, suitable for relaxation, nature lovers, animals and cyclists and tourists.
The right host is known mainly by the fact that pets live there. The farm can cross the cows, sheep, goats, donkeys, rabbits and hens. However, we can not forgive several horses for different breeds, since the horses are the most characteristic for the Gazdovstvo Uhliská horses. The smallest will definitely appreciate weekend guiding on horseback or riding a horse. For brave ones and those who take a horse ride more seriously, there is a chance to try a riding lesson. You can crawl your tavern not only in the open riding hall but also in the built hide-and-seek riding hall. A great attraction for visitors to the countryside is also a local restaurant. In the meal menu you will find tasty dishes from home cooking and quality products from what they farm and grow on their own.
Throughout the year the farm lives with traditional folk crafts. Try embroidery, crochet or Easter eggs decoration. History lovers have the opportunity to take a look at the open-air museum and explore the old machines and tools our ancestors worked on in the field. Draw strength for further hiking or relax from the winds, thanks to the children's playground, where children's events are held regularly. The ending point in the beautiful day offers a walk in the countryside. Approximately 20 minutes walk to Gazdovstvova Uhliska is located the 25-meter high viewing tower Malý Jelenec, from which the beautiful view of the adjacent villages Považský Inovec, Strážovské vrchy and Biele Karpaty is really worth it.
Salaš hidden under the magical peak
The Quartet of Salašov in Povají closes a chalet with a unique location, near which is the youngest pilgrimage place in Slovakia - Butkov Hill. Ladislav's Chalet offers its visitors traditional, fresh and tasty sheep's and smoked cheese, cinnamon or Slovak white gold - bryndza. You can enjoy the best dairy products that our farmers can produce while going to the Butkov Hill. Unusually, fowls are also present in the shepherd, with the exception of sheep. For children, there are built-in wooden attractions, where the smallest can play, entertain and feel tired. Salaš in Ladca is open to the general public daily until 8 pm.
In Považie in the Trenčín region, the mining industry is very active
Salmon farming is an important part of Slovak DNA. The fact that it plays an important role in our culture and our folklore shows not only traditional folk products or musical instruments such as whistles, gays and fujar, but also excellent dishes such as bryndza halušky, oštiepky, parenice, cheese and the like. Therefore, do not hesitate to visit Slovak realms, you certainly do not. It is no surprise to bring home an honest product of Slovak hands, from which you can be sure.
