The center of the Košice estate was once a castle, which dates back to the 13th century. Under his administration, there were several villages in the Váh valley in the Strážovské hills themselves. However, a sad end came after the conspiracy was revealed. He was taken care of by the imperial army under the command of Pavel Esterházi, which literally blew him up. Only a few walls of the majestic castle have been preserved to this day. The largest of them do not have more than one meter.

The castle is located in the cadastral area of the village Košecké Podhradie, at an altitude of 454 meters above sea level. Most tourists come here during the traditional event Ascent to 101 castles and chateaux. From the place where the towers and halls once stood, they are offered a nice view of the wide surroundings. According to the mayor of Košice Podhradie Rastislav Čepák, a lookout tower could grow here in the future.

"It simply came to our notice then. The problem is that the land under the castle is private. However, if the negotiations with their owners were successful, and perhaps a suitable challenge would come in the next programming period, we would consider it, "says the mayor. Tourists could thus get a view in the future, which was once enjoyed by the lords of Košice. The castle became a fateful year in 1670. Its then owner, Petroczy, became involved in a conspiracy against the Emperor Leopold I. After its discovery, the monarch had the demolition demolished the seat.
