The Joint Championships of the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic in road cycling will take place in Bánovce nad Bebravou and the surrounding area from 17 to 20 June. This prestigious sporting event will attract the cycling aces of European teams to us, and Peter Sagan has also promised to take part.

These are races organized annually under the auspices of the International Cycling Union (UCI), which is behind the so-called world tour races such as Tour de France, Giro d´Italia and so on. World-class riders such as Peter and Juraj Saganovci, Roman Kreuziger, Zdeněk Štybar and other top riders of world professional teams will come to Bánovce. The races are divided according to individual categories into several days. Thursday 17.6. It will be a time trial of individuals in the categories Men Elite, Women, Juniors, Juniors, which will take place in the village Podlužany. On Saturday 19.6. these will be individual races in the Women, Juniors and Juniors categories with a start in Bánovce nad Bebravou. The culmination of the entire sporting event will be the individual race on Sunday 20.6. in the Men Elite category with a stellar cast of riders with a planned start and finish in Bánovce nad Bebravou.

The joint championships of the Slovak and Czech Republic in road cycling will also be a nomination race for the 2021 Olympic Games for the Slovak and Czech sides. The biggest advantage on the track will be cyclists from the Trenčín club, who know the circuit perfectly and are already grinding their teeth for a medal placement in the junior category. But let us be surprised by the tactics chosen by professional teams with Petě and Juraj Sagan or Erik Bašek from nearby Trenčín in a fight in a package of about two hundred. In Bánovce, we can look forward to the sports experience of the year and enjoy live sports moments that we are used to watching only on television. Also this year, the three-hour live broadcast of the race will be broadcast live on Slovak and Czech public television and will be taken over by many other media.

The start and finish are planned directly at the largest urban settlement in Dubnička. Experience from previous years shows that a large number of spectators attend such an event, and therefore this year we expect the attendance of 15,000 to 20,000 spectators from the Czech Republic and Slovakia in the event of the release of anti-pandemic measures. The importance of the event is also evidenced by the fact that the chairman of the Trenčín self-governing region, Ing. Jaroslav Baška took over the patronage of him.

Preparations are in full swing, barriers, referees, grandstands, timekeeping equipment, transmission equipment, etc. must be provided, but the organizing team from the xRoad club has organized a number of successful cycling events, starting with the cyclocross race in nearby Miezgovce in 2011 and last year. the junior and men's under-23 championship is still ending.

Of course, there are also restrictions on the transport and mobility of people associated with an event of this format. As the start and finish are planned on the main route in the Dubnička housing estate, they will affect a relatively large number of inhabitants and operations in the city and adjacent villages. Compliance with the full deadline will thus be supervised by the police together with volunteers. All detour routes will be properly marked with traffic signs. We already apologize for the temporary traffic restrictions and possible complications.

Please understand and endure temporary discomfort. A varied program and unique spectator experiences will definitely make up for these difficulties. Come to the fan zone of the race on Svätoplukova Street, where you will enjoy the sports competition with your own eyes.
