Historic tramway is a popular tourist attraction and provides travelers with an unusual driving experience. During regular weekend summer operation it also serves as a transport connection for spa guests and visitors of Trenčianske Teplice.

It is a good alternative for traveling by suburban bus. After narrow gauge rails, the tram has been driving for 108 years. It is operated by Trenčín Electric Railway (TREŽ), a non-profit organization, which gives the train a peculiar character of exceptional and melancholy.
