The name of the last nobleman of the Bojnice Chateau is quite popular to the general public. The name of the Count of Ján František Pálfi is mostly connected with the magnificent romantic reconstruction of the castle. We are less familiar with its activities to support education. Let us mention at least the establishment of the burghers' schools in Trnava and Šamorín or the financial support of the Evangelical Lyceum in Bratislava. In 1902, a quarter of a million crowns were founded by "The School Study Base of the Count Ján Pálffy st. from Erdöde for boys from middle-class families who are dependent on it ". Revenues for the poor's and gifted students were covered by the Foundation's property. He did not forget the students in his will. He ordered that part of the Red Stone Castle become a summer sanatorium for pupils and their professors.
On the occasion of the International Day of Students, the Slovak National Museum - Museum of Bojnice also wants to support the idea of supporting pupils and students. On November 17th, students will be exposed to the Bojnice Chateau Exhibition for a favorable entrance fee. As part of the museum tour, they will be able to get to know the latest noble owner not only as a lover and art collector.
On 17 November, the museum will be open from 10:00 to 15:00.
