The Regional Tourism Organization (KOCR) The Trenčín Region presented its activities to high school students at the 7th annual "Open Days in Europe Direct". The event, which took place under the direction of the Europe Direct Trenčín Information Center, welcomed over 130 high school students.

On the first day of December, students of secondary schools in the founding area of ​​the Trenčín Self-governing Region (TSK) could become more familiar with the KOCR Trenčín region and its activities. The aim of the event was to inform young people about organizations working with youth and the variety of opportunities they offer. The activity of the regional organization of the Trenčín region was highlighted by the executive director of the organization Eva Fryvaldská : "Our intention is to present the nice things we have in the region, as well as a number of projects that highlight the uniqueness of our region."

Of the many activities organized by the KOCR Trenčín region or as a co-organizer in the preparations, the most youthful events in the presentation resonated. Trenčín's dominant town of Trenčín has been occupied by hundreds of students, many thanks to various projects from the workshop of the youngest regional tourism organization in Slovakia. Among the many events, for example, "HipSturum at Trenčiansky hrad" was mentioned, which, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Ľ. Stature approached the personality of an important national wizard in a "trendy" light. Within the framework of this year's presidency of the Council of the EU, high school students can enjoy the project "eSKaEU smile together" thanks to interactive lectures, workshops and concerts.

"Our activities include cooperation with state institutions, local authorities and also with schools and various cultural institutions," the executive director of KOCR Trenčín Region said. From the activities, he mentioned an organized brigade in the cave underground, where the students of the Central Industrial School from Nové Mesta nad Váhom and the KOCR Trenčín Region jointly donated nearly 500 earthworms to help make this tourist attraction available to the public. The KOCR Trencin region also introduced a new website www.trencinregion.sk . Through its fan page Trenčín region on facebook informs about various tourist attractions, prepared and just running projects. The students were especially interested in the "Šturizmus" geocaching game mapping the 11 castles of the Trenčín region and the photo competition "Trenčiansky region through the lens" . The interview was closed by a videospot from the KOCR Trenčín region, which captures unusual images of the natural and cultural treasures of the Trenčín region.

The event was attended by students from five secondary schools: Secondary School of Trade and Services in Trenčín, Central Art School Trenčín, Milan Hodža Trenčín Business School, FUTURUM Private School Trenčín and Nováky School. In addition to various lectures, high school students could attend presentation booths, including the representation of the regional tourism organization Trenčín region. The students were able to extend the knowledge about the Trenčín region and compete for valuable prizes. The correct questions of the students involved were awarded with interesting subjects prepared by KOCR Trenčín region.

The main organizer of the event was the EUROPE DIRECT Information Center Trenčín. Within the framework of the 7th Annual Open Days in Europe Direct, eight organizations were represented: the European Parliament Information Office in Slovakia, the Youth Council of the Trencin Region, Iuventa, the KOCR Trencin Region, Inex Slovakia, Edukacia @ Internet, the Slovak Academic Information Agency (SAIA) Public Library of Michal Rešek in Trenčín.
