The dominant feature of Upper Nitra - Bojnice Castle will be more visible in the evening. Slovak National Museum (SNM) - Bojnice Museum has gradually changed the lighting of the castle.

"We are currently testing new LED lights, which should be both more economical than the old halogen lamps, but also more durable. just by using current technologies, "outlined the director of SNM - Bojnice Museum Igor Socha.

According to the director, five of the nine or 11 halogen lamps worked, each with an output of 2,000 watts, which was costly. "Instead of these five luminaires at the same financial cost, we are able to illuminate the entire lock with the help of LED luminaires. We have not yet delivered all the luminaires, two thirds have been replaced," he said.

The museum wanted to complete the complete replacement of the lamps last year. "We were hoping to secure it before Christmas, but, unfortunately, the problem is with the supply of chips that contain all these modern technologies, and thus with the supply of a sufficient number of lamps so that we can illuminate the lock completely," Socha explained.

According to the director, the castle could have completely new lighting at the end of January or the beginning of February 2022. The investment is financed by the museum from its own resources.
