Although in some towns in Slovakia the swimming pools remain closed this year, most of those located in the Trenčín region are preparing for the summer season.

Every year's favorite summer activity is cooling off, sunbathing and enjoying "beach" sports at the swimming pools with family or friends. These are usually open to the general public during the season during their classic opening hours. However, the Covid-19 pandemic for this year also affected this part of the summer months, so open swimming pools are not a matter of course.

While the Nemšová Summer Swimming Pool is ready to open its gates and are waiting for more favorable weather, in Považská Bystrica it will be possible to swim only in the swimming pool. Whether these popular summer spaces will open, they cannot say with certainty in Nová Dubnica or Prievidza , but they see the situation favorably. The Thermal Swimming Pool in Bánovce nad Bebravou is also waiting for more favorable weather.

In contrast, there are cities that do not hesitate to prepare. "Preparation for the season at the moment is the same as before any other summer season. There has already been a competition for the operation of buffets and attractions, "said Erika Ságová, a spokeswoman for the city of Trenčín. The summer swimming pool on Ostrov in Trenčín will be open from 1 July 2020 . In case of favorable weather, the Dúha Summer Swimming Pool in Partizánske and the Summer Swimming Pool in Púchov are also preparing to open on the same date.

The Zelená žaba spa in Trenčianske Teplice even came with good news in the form of the exact date of the opening of the premises to the public, which is Saturday, June 27, 2020 . The Čajka Bojnice Swimming Pool is also clear that this summer their visitors will be refreshed by their water, but the question currently under discussion remains whether only spa guests or the general public will have access.
