KOCR Trenčín region presented a hit for this summer and the result of a unique cooperation

On Friday, July 10, 2020, a working meeting with journalists took place in the birthplace of Ľudovít Štúr and Alexander Dubček in Uhrovec, at which the regional tourism organization (KOCR) Trenčín region presented hot news - a new summer game ŠTÚR TÚR, which can be attended by a wide the public, as well as unique brochures for the visually impaired, written in Braille.

Holidays full of fun

The summer months will be enlivened by lovers of tourism, nature or history with a unique activity, the ŠTÚR TÚR competition. With a multifunctional scarf, which is special in several respects, the tourist goes on hikes in the Trenčín region. The game will take the visitor to places that Ľudovít Štúr visited or liked, but also to places that should not be missing in a regular travel notebook. Juraj Gerlici, chairman of KOCR Trenčín region, spoke about this year's summer season: “ŠTÚR TÚR is a unique project focused specifically on the target group, which is families with children. During the two competition months, they can visit 10 well-known and lesser-known locations in the Trenčín Region together. In these places, they are photographed with our multifunctional scarf, which we automatically send at registration, and then, when they send us all 10 photos, they are included in the draw for a family wellness stay in the Malé Bielice Thermal Baths . We can already state that there is great interest in the competition. To date, we have registered more than 120 participants, not only from the Trenčín region, but also from the Bratislava, Banská Bystrica and Košice regions ”.

Everyone will receive a reward

Registered participants of the ŠTÚR TÚR competition will receive not only a multifunctional scarf with graphics of all competition locations and characteristic Štúrovské mustaches, but also a unique T-shirt after meeting the conditions of the game. "Successful travelers who manage to visit all locations and meet the conditions of the competition will receive a monument in the form of a stylish T-shirt. In addition to the main prize, the contestants also have the opportunity to receive a special reward, which is the wellness entrances to the Malé Bielice Thermal Baths, " Gerlice explained. The tourist goals of the ŠTÚR TÚR game are a combination of nature and history, which is also presented by the promotional video competition . "Everyone can do their job. Castles, lookout towers, viewpoints and nature trails appear among the localities of tours in the Trenčín Region, so the program is really varied, " added the chairman of KOCR Trenčín region, Juraj Gerlici.

History within reach even for the blind

The cooperation between KOCR Trenčín region and the Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired of Slovakia resulted in a unique publication in Braille. "Together, we managed to prepare material that was still noticeably lacking in the Trenčín Region. The brochure entitled "A Touch of History" provides a description of historical monuments - castles, castle ruins and chateaux in the Trenčín region made in Braille. With this step, we wanted to bring the rich historical heritage of the Trenčín region closer to visually impaired visitors to our region, “ Eva Frývaldská, Executive Director of KOCR Trenčín Region, presented the results of the project.

Material for the whole region

Unique brochures for the blind and partially sighted written in Braille will be placed in tourist information offices in the Trenčín Region and also in selected castles, hotels and libraries. " We will distribute the first 24 pieces of this material to all currently functioning information offices and centers in the Trenčín Region. The brochure can already be found by visitors at Trenčín, Čachtice and Beckov castles, “Frývaldská made clear. A member of the Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired of Slovakia from the Trenčín Regional Center, Mrs. Anna Perglerová, also accepted the invitation to the press briefing in Uhrovec. "It's a very successful brochure. I think other regions could also be inspired. We would learn more about castles, chateaux and other attractive places in Slovakia," said Anna Perglerová.
