Králikov mlyn in Nemšová will once again be alive

The reconstruction of the old Krallik mill in Nemšová started to take place in these days. One of the oldest sights of the city will be renovated for 110,000 euros, this amount coming from Eurofonds in the framework of cross-border cooperation with the Moravian town of Brumov. On the basis of the official plan, repairs should culminate by the end of this year.

Many buildings in Slovakia that have their own history end up as ruins. Due to the lack of funds or technical-realization reasons, they can not be restored. Králikovův mlýn also fled this fate thanks to the patient owners and civic association Peregrín, who fought for the rescue and revitalization of this historic building. Its history dates back to 1822, when the oldest written record of the mill, owned by the Králik family, was found. It is found in documents deposited in the State Archives in Bytča.

From its inception until 1950, the Králikov Mill was the Králikov family. But in that year he was nationalized after the Communist coup. As part of the restitution, the family returned their building with the equipment for more than 50 years, in 2001. The object was subsequently rented to the town of Nemšová, which initiated the reconstruction.

"We are very pleased that the reconstruction is already in full swing. These days the roof is working, and according to plans, the adjustments should really be done by the end of the calendar year. Králikov mlyn will be a multifunctional space - it will include a museum of milling craft, a café or tea room, a cultural area, an information center and its seat is also the civic association Peregrín whose activity is, among other things, helping people with cancer diseases, "explained the co-owner mlyn, Mrs. Jana Králiková.

Due to the complexity of the provided services that will be part of the mill, it will be a unique concept of its kind. "We look forward to creating a unique attraction for both tourists and locals, as well as a cultural venue that will use visitors' interaction with, for example, various creative workshops. This project is unique and yet the only one in the Trenčín region, "concluded Eva Frývaldská, executive director of the regional tourism organization Trenčín region.
