The neighboring regions, Trenčín and Zlín, united the international project "Cultural and historical heritage as a basic attribute of national consciousness". The final conference, which took place on Thursday, December 5, 2019 in the historic Hotel Gino Park Palace **** in Orlovo under the auspices of the Regional Tourism Organization (KOCR) Trenčín Region, wrote a point for the implementation of activities.

The romantic spaces of the manor house in Orlovo, with a touch of the coming Christmas holidays, were filled with presentations on the theme "Our history, our heritage". The lecturers dealt with various issues, which, however, are connected by a common denominator - tourist potential and its use. The professional conference of tourism was prepared by KOCR Trenčín region. "In addition to the project outputs, we focused on a wider range of topics. From the various possibilities of financing the restoration of monuments or projects to the question "What interests the visitor of our region today?" , Said the project manager of KOCR Trenčín region, Pavol Štefčík.

Pleasant with useful

The choice of the place where the conference will take place was not random. Its essence was emphasized by the executive director of the regional tourism organization, Eva Frývaldská: “The manor house in Orlovo is a national cultural monument from 1612 and is also part of 100 historical buildings, which we have combined in a clear brochure. The engaging material accompanies the visitor to the Trenčín and Zlín regions through the most attractive places with a rich historical heritage. "

Cooperation beyond the borders

The Tourism Center of East Moravia (CCRVM) together with KOCR Trenčín region took care of the two-year operation of the project and the fulfillment of its activities. CCRVM marketing specialist Zdeněk Urbanovský spoke about the essence and goals of international cooperation: “In the territory of East Moravia and the Trenčín Region, we have different, but at the same time the same monuments. The difference is their location. The theme, architecture, authors, origin or culture, on the other hand, are the same. ”Urbanovský also pointed out that the essence of the project was not to create a tourist guide, but a comprehensive tourism product in the two regions. "The visitor does not have to travel far for the beauty of nature or history. Educational trails, rock overhangs, mansions, parks, castles, chateaux and many other treasures can be found here in the Zlín Region, or "around the corner" in the Trenčín region, " added Urbanovský.

Behind Štefánik, to Kopanice, Považský Castle or how to support the project

The conference participants listened to many interesting contributions. They also learned something about the projects of the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry, directly from the director of the Trenčín Regional Chamber, Ján Václav. In addition to the ARTISTIC project, he paid attention to various forms of support in the field of intangible cultural heritage, its promotion or sources of funding. A representative of the Center for Traditional Culture in Myjava invited to visit Myjava Kopanice, who drew attention to the importance of preserving the customs and traditions that the visitor is looking for more and more. Miroslav Tichý, Vice-Chairman of the Bystrica Castle Association, described the pitfalls that accompany the work of the people involved in the restoration of the ruins of Považský Castle. He demonstrated the difficult journey of the volunteers responsible for preserving the monumental building through authentic photographs and knowledge directly from the field. Whether the poll "The Greatest Slovak" and its results influenced the attendance of the MR Štefánik Museum in Košarisky was made clear, among other things, by the museum's custodian, Marián Imriška. He "analyzed" the description of the birth house of General Milan Rastislav Štefánik and the activities of the museum in detail.

What next?

The international project has been a part of the activities of the regional tourism organization Trenčín region since the beginning of 2018. In addition to this cooperation, however, the organization is fighting on several fronts. "A novelty that we managed to launch is the sale of electronic tickets directly on the website www.trencinregion.sk. Tourists welcome this opportunity. With this step, we try to facilitate the work of the buyer, but on the contrary also the seller, also to ensure higher attendance of facilities in the Trenčín region, which have not used this option so far. The first event where we launched the sale of electronic tickets was the Magic of Advent at Čachtice Castle, " said Eva Frývaldská, Executive Director of KOCR Trenčín Region, in her presentation. In addition to an overview of 2019, she also focused on plans for the future. "The project from the INTERREG VA SK-CZ 2014-2020 program is not the first or last cooperation between KOCR Trenčín region and CCRVM. We welcome the partnership with our experienced neighboring region, which will continue in the coming years, " concluded Frývaldská.
