November '89 - Concert evening

Remember November '89 with its leaders - Michael Kocáb and Ladislav "Agnes" Snopko during the Concert Evening at KKC Hviezda.

We will remember an important milestone in our history, its moments and emotions this year as well. In addition to the concert, the 34th anniversary of the Gentle Revolution will be accompanied by a discussion with its leaders - Michael Kocáb and Ladislav "agnes" Snopko. In addition , the Trenčín legends Bez Ladu and Skoda will bring you a musical-historical experience with their hits. The musical program will also be enriched by the Carpathian ridges with compositions from the repertoire of the Prague selection.

The concert evening under the auspices of the Night of Theaters will take place on Saturday 18 November 2023 at 18.00 in the premises of KKC Hviezda.

Michael Kocáb is a Czech singer, composer and civic activist and politician. He graduated from the conservatory in Prague - majoring in organ and composition, and later in 1977 he founded the music group Prague Selection. During November 1989, together with others, he founded the Civic Forum, which made him one of the leading personalities of this era. In 1990-91, he served as a member of the Federal Assembly of Czechoslovakia. In the role of deputy chairman of the parliamentary commission, he significantly contributed to the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

Ladislav "Agnes" Snopko is a Slovak archaeologist, politician and former Minister of Culture during the first government of V. Mečiar and then J. Čarnogurský. During the previous regime, he was one of the organizers of the alternative cultural and artistic scene, he was a conservationist in the ecological initiative Bratislava/loud.
