The patriotic museum in Považská Bystrica in the founding area of the Trenčiansky samosprávny kraj (TSK) boasts a new publication. On its sides, she reveals the rich history of a wooden church in Horná Mariková - Ráztoka (district Považská Bystrica). Its author is local priest Milan Kováč.
After the Second World War, the parish priest Alexander Klabner encouraged local residents to build a wooden church together at the foot of the rugged mountains. Information and circumstances of the status of a sacral building were drawn by Milan Kováč from the Historia oratorii publici in Raztoka, whose creator is Alexander Klabnik. Besides the description of individual interior accessories, the book also provides information about several curiosities associated with a wooden church. "A complete rarity was the wooden harmony coming from the Orlov manor house, marked with specific heraldic signs from the time of the Austro-Hungarian Empire," one of them director Petronela Rágulová, the director of the Petruska Museum of the Township, approached. The Church of the Divine Heart of Jesus was the only wooden temple in the area of the Istrian-style sanctuary .
The wooden church has not been technically repaired over the course of decades. Their faces, which gradually changed from the 1980s to the face of the temple, are also learned from the publication. Its added value is photographs , capturing, for example, the general renovation of the church in 2013. This was possible only thanks to the financial support of Miloš Rados. The restoration of this wooden treasure is not associated with just a few names, the author of the book mentions the names of many who deserve in any way its renovation.
The conclusion of the 40-page book is a sad tragedy of August 2016, when this unique object was intentionally ignited . "The fire devastated not only the building and its restored interior, but especially the sacred objects and the Eucharist itself in the bohemian," explained Petronela Ragulová, a tragic event.
The publication issued by the TSK is intended not only for local residents and natives who have the image of a wooden church still alive, but also for those interested in regional history or sacral architecture. If you also belong to them, you can buy a book about the Istrian-style gem in the Vlastivedno Museum in Považska Bystrica by Mrs. Kvašňovská.
